Dads—those mysterious household creatures—often have no say at home, bottling up everything inside. Getting them to speak their minds? Nearly impossible.
That's why, for Father's Day, Tokiya decided to step in and help dads let it all out. Inspired by our Father's Day special dish, the flame-grilled “Yan Shao,” we launched the “Dad's Fiery Truths” campaign—a limited-time social media activation that gave voice to all the frustration dads have been keeping inside.
We kicked things off by remixing iconic meme templates—famous for their exaggerated rage—casting dads as the main characters. These meme-style posts struck a chord, playfully capturing the emotional reality of fatherhood. Fans loved the side-by-side comparisons with the original memes, while real dads chimed in with heartfelt (and often hilarious) reactions.
But we didn't stop there. We also paid tribute to one of Taiwan's most legendary internet memes—“Li Si Le Kao” (You're the one grilling?)—recreating its iconic scenes with a culinary twist. As the story unfolded, we revealed our featured Father's Day dish in perfect meme-worthy style.
Finally, we invited all dads to boldly speak up on Father's Day, using the “Dad's Fiery Truths” meme series to send messages to their families—breaking the silence and bringing everyone closer together.
Thanks to this campaign, Tokiya didn't just generate buzz—it sparked genuine emotional engagement. The brand refreshed its image as a traditional family restaurant, earning praise from younger audiences and sparking new interest in dining with Dad.
